What To Do When We Aren't Playing Hockey?

Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas are dripping in culture and fun and exciting adventures.  Who better to help you find things to do than a bunch of locals?

  • The Lemieux Center:  Located in Cranberry township the Lemieux Center is where the Pittsburgh Penguins practice.  There are multiple ice rinks that hold open skates all year long.  What a better way to take a break from hockey - with more hockey? https://www.upmclemieuxsportscomplex.com

  • Local Parks:  We know what it is like sometimes younger siblings need a place to run and play too.  There are dozens of local parks in our area.  Graham park being one of them.  North Park is a great place to play.  During the summer months North Park offers kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, and peddle boats in their lake.  https://www.ventureoutdoors.org/kayak-pittsburgh/kayak-pittsburgh-north-park/

  • Sports fans?  Check out a Pirates game and hang on Pittsburgh's North Shore.  Cool off at the Water Steps right next to PNC Park facing the Allegheny River.  https://www.mlb.com/pirates

  • Gateway Clipper:  You know we are famous for our bridges and rivers right?  Take a tour on the Gateway Clipper fleet and ride the incline up to Mount Washington!  Rivers and views galore.  https://www.gatewayclipper.com/

  • Amusement Parks:  Kennywood Amusement Park is a must during a Pittsburgh summer visit.  Or if you're more of a water park type of family check out Sandcastle Water park located on the Monongahela River.  www.kennywood.com  - www.sandcastlewaterpark.com
